The
best seat is of no use unless it is properly adjusted.
You are sitting correctly if your upper arm and lower arm form almost
a right angle and the lower arm is resting on the top of the table. The
entire sole of the foot must easily rest on the floor and the lower arms
lie comfortably on the table.
A height adjustable armrest relieves arms and elbows and avoids
tension in the shoulder and neck region. The ideal solution is the use
of height adjustable tables which can be adapted to the particular body
size. Where necessary, smaller people should use a foot rest.
The
resistance of the backrest should be individually adjusted to suit body
weight.
The workstation should be arranged to suit the type of work being
undertaken. Where a lot of screen work is involved the keyboard and
screen should be carefully positioned to avoid tiredness and unequal
strain caused by the head being in the wrong position.
